• Festival of Hope Rockfest (1972)
August 12–13, 1972 – The Festival of Hope Rockfest took place at Roosevelt Raceway in Westbury, New York. It was sponsored by the Nassau Easter Seals Society to benefit crippled children. The performers were: Ike & Tina Turner, Sly & The Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, Chuck Berry, James Brown, The Shirelles, Sha-na-na, Billy Preston, Dr. Hook, Looking Glass, Bo Diddly, Stephen Still, McKendree Spring, Elephant's Memory, The James Gang, and Commander Cody.[19]
